Turning Science into Action:

10 Programs for Improving Survival from Cardiac Arrest

Global Webinar Recorded July 12, 2022

Sudden cardiac arrest is the leading cause of death among adults, yet it need not be fatal. Though survival in most communities is very poor, some communities and Emergency Medical Services Systems have accomplished outstanding improvement and results. Why are some communities and EMS systems so successful when others are not? And which steps can we take to improve outcomes?

To learn about the Resuscitation Academy 10 step programs and how to implement them, download the 10 Steps for Improving Survival from Sudden Cardiac Arrest PDF.

This was a Global Resuscitation Alliance event that has been produced with the support of the Laerdal Foundation.

Ten Programs to Improve Survival

We believe these programs will lead to an increase in cardiac arrest survival in your community. Each section gives a summary along with real-world case studies of the program in action. As the Resuscitation Academy says, “If you’ve seen one EMS system, you’ve seen one EMS system.” Leaders from around the globe are proving that no matter where you live, improvement is possible.

Partnership to Support the Call to Action

The American Heart Association and Laerdal, through their Strategic Alliance, is proud to collaborate with the Resuscitation Academy and Global Resuscitation Alliance. The goal will be to learn from the collective years of breakthrough work in resuscitation, and build programs together that can save more lives.
